Getting Started
- A sound card is required to use the program. The software will automatically detect the installed sound devices on your PC.
- Please ensure that the sound card and drivers are installed and enabled before you open the program.
- Please ensure that the sound card software is correctly set-up and that the correct source input (microphone jack) is selected for the microphone.
- A run-time engine is part of the installation.
- The program is Copy Protected and can only be installed on one computer.
- Please ensure that the program is fully functional and compatible with your PC and sound card before purchasing an activation code.
Please perform the following basic steps to perform octave analysis to a signal connected to your PC sound card:
- Before you open the program please ensure that the sound card is enabled and that the correct source input (microphone jack) is selected depending where the microphone is plugged in.
- Open Spectro Octave Analyzer by selecting Programs/nvhsoftware/Spectro Octave Analyzer from the Windows
button.
- Click with the mouse on Device in the Tool Bar and select the sound device where the microphone is plugged in. The device information is shown in the table at the bottom of the Tab Window. The selected sound device is displayed at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, below the Tab Window.
- Click the Start button in the top left-hand corner of the screen to perform an octave analysis.
- If required adjust the signal processing parameters by left clicking the mouse on the Analyzer button in the Tool Bar.
- The cursor in the graph can be dragged with the mouse to the required position by holding down the left button. Cursor properties (X and Y values) are displayed in the Graph Tab Windows. The Tab Window switches to the Graph Tab when the mouse is left clicked in the Octave Graph.
- Graph properties can be set in the Graph Tab Window.
- The results can be saved in a text file by selecting File in the Menu and click on Save Octave Spectrum.
